Biography



Patricia Bird is primarily a self-educated portraitist, visual artist, illustrator, photographer, computer graphic artist, website designer, and art educator. Patricia incorporates traditional and classical techniques into her visual art, and her favored styles include realism and surrealism. She prefers graphite, technical pen, and pastels when drawing; and enjoys painting in acrylics and watercolor.

Drawing a portrait represents the personality and life of a breathing, unique individual whose face is different than any other person on the earth.
When Patricia draws someone she feels that person's life through their eyes. This is one reason why she prefers drawing portraits to any other art subject.


Having lost a child to cancer makes Patricia serious about her work. Each work of art is very special to her, knowing the importance of the patronís relationship to the subject
